1.IndusInd Swachh Vidyalaya

In response to the Prime Ministers' Initiative of Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan, the bank constructed and refurbished sanitation facilities in 20 villages in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra and 23 villages in Eastern Uttar Pradesh, to improve health and hygiene in the schools and reduce drop-out rates of students, especially girl children. The project has impacted close to 5000 children. The Bank will maintain the toilets for a year and then hand them over to the School Sanitation Management Committee comprising of teachers, PTA members and members from the Panchayat. The project also creates awareness on health, hygiene and good sanitation practices within the local community and schools.

2.Education Through Arts

In a new project initiated in FY16-17, the bank has partnered with Nalandaway Foundation, to support Arts Education for marginalized school students in Coimbatore. Art experiences offer children opportunities to think and feel as they explore, problem solve, express and interpret the world around them and this has proven to help children concentrate better in their academic curriculum and subsequently reduce drop-outs.

The bank has been supporting Afforestation projects that help in mitigating GHG emissions and combat climate change while conserving biodiversity in the region. In FY 2016-17, the bank has supported two Afforestation projects with Satpuda Foundation and Centre for Environmental Research & Education. Close to 35,000 trees comprising of about 30 species have been planted in the buffer villages of Pench, Navegaon, Nagzira, Satpuda, Tadoba and Kanha tiger reserves in Central India as well as several suburbs in Mumbai.
