About RRB ALP Exam

'RRB ALP' Exam is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board.This Exams is used to recruit candidates for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technician posts.He assists Loco Pilot in Driving or piloting the train. This post requires continuous attention and high degree of responsiveness. Your response to situations are tested by an Aptitude test.

Application Process

1.Candidates are required to apply Online through RRB website indianrailways.gov.in. No other means/ mode of application will be accepted.

2.Candidates are required to have a valid personal email ID and Contact No. 

3. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the online application themselves as no change in any of the data filled in the online application will be possible/ entertained. 

4.There is a provision to modify the online application prior to submission only. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct the details in online application, if any.

5.Make Payment and Print Application

Exam Pattern

The entire recruitment process shall involve, First stage CBT, Second stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test and Document Verification as applicable.

1.First Stage CBT (Common for ALP/Technician)

The First Stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts.

 Total Duration : 60 Min

 No of Questions: 75

2.Second Stage CBT

The Second Stage CBT shall have two parts viz Part A and Part B as detailed below.:

PART A :

Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST -25%. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.The marks scored in Part A alone shall be used for short listing of candidates for further stages of recruitment process subject to the condition that the candidate is securing qualifying mark in Part B.

Duration: 90 Min

No of Questions: 100

PART B:

This part is qualifying in nature and shall have questions from the trade syllabus prescribed by Director General of Employment & Training (DGET). Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having questions from the relevant trade.

Duration: 60 Min

No of Questions: 75
