About RRB GROUP D Exam

'RRB Group D' Exam is conducted by Railway Recruitment Board.This Exams is used to recruit candidates for Group D posts in Indian Railways. It includies posts like Gateman,Pointsman,Porter,Helper etc

Application Process

1.Candidates are required to apply Online through RRB website indianrailways.gov.in. No other means/ mode of application will be accepted.

2.Candidates are required to have a valid personal email ID and Contact No. 

3. Candidates are advised to carefully fill in the online application themselves as no change in any of the data filled in the online application will be possible/ entertained. 

4.There is a provision to modify the online application prior to submission only. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct the details in online application, if any.

5.Make Payment and Print Application

Exam Pattern

The entire recruitment process shall involve a Computer Based Test(CBT), Physical Efficiency Test (PET) and Document Verification.

1.Computer Based Test(CBT)

All the eligible candidates have to undergo a Computer Based Test on the specified date, time and venue as per the e-call letter to be downloaded by the candidates from the websites of RRBs. The information about the e-call letter download shall be communicated through the websites as well as personal email communication to the candidates.

 Total Duration : 90 Min,

 No of Questions: 100

 Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR -40%, OBC-30%, SC-30%, ST-30%. These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them

2.Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

Based on the merit of the candidates in the CBT, candidates shall be called for PET Two times the community wise total vacancy of the Posts notified against RRBs.The criterion for PET is as under:

Male Candidates Female Candidates
Should be able to lift and carry 35 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 4 minutes and 15 seconds in one chance Should be able to lift and carry 20 kg of weight for a distance of 100 metres in 2 minutes in one chance without putting the weight down and Should be able to run for a distance of 1000 metres in 5 minutes and 40 seconds in one chance.
